Campers Arrive

This week was still filled with rain and wind.  The wind is the worst because we can't work on the lake when it is too windy.  The wind also makes it much colder.
We begin every day with a devotional.  We take turns as couples to be in charge.  We gave our first one last week.  I talked about "Snow Camp" from when I was YW president in our ward and how after we do all we can to be prepared, the Lord will take over and make it the experience he wants us to have.
During our devotionals, we also recite the YW Theme (which they changed after I had memorized it- they shouldn't do that to old people), and our
 Camp Missionary Charge:
Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.(3 NE 5:13)
Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of  God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength,
that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
And faith, hope, charity and love,
with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work.
Remember
faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness,
godliness, charity humility, diligence.
Ask, and ye shall receive:
Knock and it shall be opened unto you. Amen

Friday and Saturday, we had our first campers on the lake.  We had a Young Adult group, a father and sons group, and several families.  It was a lot of fun to finally get to do our jobs.  We did  shifts as the orienting couple, and also worked as the dock helpers.
The weather was mostly rainy, windy and cold.  One session we actually had to call the session early because the wind was over 20 miles and hour.

The sandbox where kids of all ages like to play!

On the 4th Saturday of the month, we have a missionary social.  This month it was a dutch oven dinner and a "minute to win it" competition between the districts.
Yes, missionaries are silly!
