Memorial Day and Challenge Course

Sunday as we left Smith Pavilion, this is the sight we saw at the point.  Hope for a better tomorrow!

We started the day with a camp Memorial Day Flag raising and ceremony.
These are the Elders that have served in the military, or police/firefighters.
Elder Duncan playing "Amazing Grace"

After a camp safety meeting and our team meeting, and after many weather delays, we got to go to a Challenge Course!  This has been one of my biggest concerns about coming to camp.  I was a bit afraid that they would put us on this team.  I have an issue with heights and no arm and leg strength.  I also knew if I came to camp, I was going to make myself do this.  So here is the proof!!!!
Mixed Emotions!

"In case you don't make it........

Elder Oliekan makes it look easy
Easy does it

Whee!!!!

It's a long way down

This was hard!

And it got harder...

And harder....by the time I got to the top, I was too exhausted to be afraid of being up so high!
"I hope she makes it"!

Once I was able to go off the birds nest, it was actually fun!

TA-DAAA!!!!!!!!!
We did it!!!

After the high course we were able to tour the low courses and actually do the one they call "Lifeline". These courses are designed to build unity and problem solving.

Then we were off on an outback ride!  This was the first time we were able to go off with a group and see some of the outback camps.
