Last year we went on several rides in the back country. This year we have not had the time, or the energy to go out. When we finally had time, it was so dry and dusty, we were hesitant to go. Last week we were blessed with the first rain in several months. We were able to go on a short ride with some of our team. We went up to Maple Grove and through some of the out back camps.

Finally, Tuesday, it was do or die time. I could not go home without doing this! We headed out about 11:00 am. We headed up Eagles loop, and over to Hollywood (Temple) Lake.
Vibrant colors
It was a perfect day- temperature, perfect!

Serene beauty
Last year we tried to find Baird's Cabin. We came really close, but never found it. It was a "must see" this year. Tradition has it that some missionaries restored it in 2012, and then spent their 50th wedding anniversary there. I hope they had a nice time!

As we rode along, the breathtaking beauty filled my soul.
This hymn played through my mind and brought tears to my eyes:
When through the woods
And forest glades I wander
I hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the trees:
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze:
Then sings my soul,
My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
(from the hymn written by Carl Boberg)
Now, I can go home.....
