Fun Friday!!!

We had a fun day on Friday!  We started the morning with a devotional at 9:00 am.  Elder Mark P. Durham, an area seventy, came and addressed us.  His remarks were brief, but very applicable to us as we are serving the Lord.

Camp Abish - a beautiful morning

After the devotional, I spent a few hours in Camp Rebekah cutting masking papers to cover the windows next week when we are staining.  Granger spent the morning with the staining crew putting the finishing touches on Camp Esther.

At 1:00pm, we were invited by the Challenge Courses to a "Thank You" ice cream social.  They threw a party to thank all of the missionaries that come on Friday and Saturday to help with the challenge courses.  It was a lot of fun!

We reported for challenge course duty at 3:30.The group we had this week was an Asian Young Single Adult group.  They spoke Chinese and English.
Chillin' 'til the group arrives!
We were asked to do "Life Line" with the group.  In this activity, the kids are told that this activity represents their journey through life.
Each person is blindfolded and asked to wait
One at a time they are brought to the line. They are told to follow the line to the end

There are many detours that they have to negotiate along the way.  Some are able to go right through.  Some get caught up going in circles, and some even go back to the beginning.

When they reach the end, they are welcomed home.  We then have a discussion about how this relates to life on this earth.  This particular group was amazing.  They had such a great spirit and great insights into the gospel plan.  We really enjoyed working with this group.
After doing the zip line and Life Line, the group did the "Wall"

The object of this activity is to get everyone in the group over the wall in 10 minutes.  They were awesome!!!
When we got back to the cabin, the lake team did an "All Call" for the missionaries that wanted to come and take a ride at the lake.  They have opened the dam a week earlier than last year, and the water is going down fast.  We actually got to go out on the pontoon boat one last time.  They even let us drive!
One of the paddle boats had gotten stuck in the mud.  Granger was able to throw them a rope and tow them out.
We loved the lake last year and have missed it this summer.  We loved being able to take a farewell cruise.  It was a perfect ending to a great day!
